The second Kula Shaker album, Peasants, Pigs and Astronauts was what you might call a bit of a production number.
The band were keenly involved in their visual material, and ideas for the album sleeve were bounced around for weeks before deciding on the medieval spaceman character. A short EPK documentary became a Channel 4 commissioned one hour TV special once they had seen the work-in-progress. Needless to say this became a major project in 1999 at the Stylorouge studio. The EPK was seen by Echo, who in turn commissioned a similar, but shorter piece, to accompany Feeder's album release Yesterday Went Too Soon. Again, this becam

Whilst on a video roll, V2 Records sent Rob O'Connor and freelance producer Rupert Style to Cuba with Kirsty MacColl, where a promo clip was shot for her latin flavoured Mambo de La Luna. It was great for Rob to be back in touch with Kirsty, some 19 years s
ince he had designed her single sleeve for There's A Guy Works Down The Chip Shop Swears He's Elvis. Sadly it would be Kirsty's last trip to the island she loved so much. She is still greatly missed.
On the design side Stylorouge worked with UK hiphop act Desert Eagle

Halliwell returned to the popscene exactly one year after the Spice Girls split, and true to her word she came back with a string of top ten successes, all art directed by Stylorouge, with photography by Nick Knight and Dean Freeman. Author and Journalist Polly Sampson commissioned visual solutions for the cover of her first collection of short stories, and the Echo Label's Subcircus re-worked the 1970's glam thing and T&CP designed a cool corporate identity for 60degrees North. On the more serious music scene, the company's relationship with Trilok Gurtu continued following the demise of his record company CMP, and African Fantasy, the fourth album of Trilok's to get a Stylorouge sleeve was released. EMI Classics continued to brief the company on a variety of projects. Native Voices is a collection of world and classical vocal performances - the sleeve is still a Stylorouge favourite. On-line rock/lifestyle portal Playlouder commissioned Stylorouge to create the identity and visual look for their newsy website.
