Apart from the music work, a spate of Photographer's websites kept Stylorouge busy this year.
Sites for Kevin Westenberg, Jeff Cottenden and Nels Israelson were produced alongside a number of multimedia projects for record company clients. This was a big year for the E (enhanced) CD and the viral email. Single campaigns such as those for Holly Valance presented a perfect opportunity for interactivity, so CD's including promo videos and photo galleries became a natural 'add-on'. Stylorouge also got the chance to create a whole 'Halo-style' visual campaign for Irish newcomers Melaton (website, video, shoot, sleeves). During this year the company made the move east to Shoreditch, where the stigma of being in oh-so-trendy Hoxton was the only downside. The area had changed beyond recognition over the past 10 years or so, and it was now regarded as something of a mecca for media companies,
bars, clubs and boutiques. For once, Stylorouge followed a trend and took up residence in EC2. At this point the staff included individuals with quite different skills to 20 years ago – not least of all thanks to Jamie Gibson, Nigal Raymond, Chris O'Hare and Jon Black who all brought invaluable video and multimedia ability.
The recently formed Brighton Institute of Modern Music (BIMM)
was proving to be a popular route to further education for young people intent on making careers in rock, and Stylorouge continued their relationship with the coolest music school around by providing print and marketing solutions. Edwyn Collins presented a memorable new solo album, Doctor Syntax, requiring packaging and a website, and Chrissie Hynde's Pretenders made a welcome return with the album Loose Screw.
TV facilities house Woodcut changed their name to Toast and got Stylorouge to perform the branding honours, Ministry Of Sound commissioned a logo and website for ambient dance project Jakatta, Sony a website for Des'ree and Warners a Best of DVD for The Corrs. Guy Barker's Stylorouge-designed album was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize and the Red Hot Chili Peppers toured Europe with a marketing campaign by Stylorouge accompanying the journey.

hit with Time Of My Life and then effectively quit, but not before racking up the airmiles with photo and video shoot trips to New York State and Spain respectively, with Stylorouge in attendance to art direct proceedings. The promo clip recalled the summer of love, and Stylorouge shot a short, sharp 'making of' piece to accompany the DVD single.
David Gilmour played a rare concert at the Royal Festival Hall as part of the Robert Wyatt-curated Meltdown Festival, and Stylorouge film it for later DVD release.
Absolut Vodka features classic album sleeves as a promotional theme in this year and Stylorouge creative director Rob O'Connor is asked to review some of the classics chosen. The resulting interview is featured on the Absolut website.
Toploader's Stylorouge-designed website is nominated for a BT Music Online Award.
All in all, a busy year, in which Best Of Albums for Catatonia, Enya and Squeeze re-united the company with some old friends and acquaintances.
